A flap blowing system can be applied to both propeller driven airplanes (turbo-prop) or fan jet powered airplanes. The latter are similar to existing regional jets but with the addition of the Power-WingTM features. The following figures illustrate a typical installation.

A small shaft output turbine drives a single stage, high efficiency fan. Pressurized air (about 1 psi) supplies the inlet air to the small turbine with the majority of the fan delivery air split to flow into ducts in each wing. This air is ejected through a slot ahead of the main flap. This blowing air increases the effectiveness of the main flap up to deflections of 60° and improves the effectiveness of the gust alleviation flap.
